What does Ahoratra calculate?
Sunrise, sunset and the twilights, the Moon’s phase, its rise and set, and the next new and full moon, for where you are. It computes them on your iPhone from astronomical models, checked against NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to within a minute.
What does “in Vedic timing” mean?
Each day also has a classical Vedic reading, with its source. It’s never a forecast. You decide whether and how to use it.
Is this astrology?
Jyotiṣa, the Indian tradition of reading time by the sky, covers both astronomy and what is often translated as “astrology”. Ahoratra uses one part of it: muhūrta, the rules for choosing a time for an act. There is no birth chart, no zodiac sign and no prediction about you.
Why is an observance on a different date from my almanac?
Ahoratra computes each date for where you are. When the date in India differs, the observance’s page shows it. Some almanacs follow another convention, and the page says so too.
How do I see fasting days and festivals?
Turn on Settings › Days you keep. It’s off until you choose it.
Do I have to share my location?
No. You can type a city instead.
Does Ahoratra need the internet?
No. It works offline, and nothing leaves your iPhone.
How do I add the Lock Screen widget?
Touch and hold your Lock Screen, then tap Customize. Tap the Lock Screen, then the space under the time. Choose Ahoratra.
How do I delete my data?
Settings › Privacy › Delete personal data removes your plans and your event tags from your iPhone.
What won’t Ahoratra time?
It offers no timing for medical procedures, legal steps or financial decisions. For those, follow the advice of the people responsible for them. For weddings and family ceremonies, your family’s priest or panchang decides.
How do I ask for a refund?
Apple handles purchases and refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
