Ahoratra™ Privacy Policy

Effective: [date to come]

Ahoratra™: Sun & Moon Planner is made by Raama Hari Dev (“we”). You can reach us at hello@ahoratra.day.

In short

Ahoratra collects no data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no trackers, and it works without an internet connection. What it calculates, and what you plan in it, stays on your iPhone.

What stays on your iPhone

  • Your place. If you allow location access, Ahoratra uses your iPhone’s location while you use the app to work out sunrise, sunset and the Moon for where you are. You can type a city instead. Your location never leaves your iPhone.
  • Your plans and settings. What you add to My Day, the tags you put on calendar events, your reminders and your settings are stored by the app on your iPhone. They are part of your iPhone’s own backups, if you use them.
  • Widgets and Apple Watch. The widgets and the Watch complications show the same calculations, passed between the app and its widgets on your own devices.

Your calendar (optional)

  • If you turn on “Advice on my events”, Ahoratra asks for access to your calendars. It reads your events on your iPhone only to show how their time is read. It never changes or moves them.
  • If you hold a time, Ahoratra adds an event to its own calendars (Vedic Observances, Practice and Plans). If your calendars sync through iCloud or another service, those events sync like any other event. Ahoratra itself sends nothing.
  • Adding a festival to your calendar from its page uses your iPhone’s own event screen, and needs no calendar access.

Notifications

Reminders and heads-ups are scheduled on your iPhone. Each kind is off until you turn it on.

Siri and Shortcuts

Ahoratra works out its answers on your iPhone. When you speak to Siri, Apple handles your request under Apple’s own privacy policy.

Sharing

When you share a card, or send a festival’s times to family, you choose the app and the people. What you share (facts, times and a place name) goes through the app you pick, not through us.

Feedback

“Send feedback” opens your own mail app with a message to us. It includes the app’s version and the date you were viewing, and your place only if you turn on “Include my place in feedback”, which is off until you do. We use your message only to reply to you and to improve Ahoratra, and we delete it if you ask.

Crash reports

Ahoratra contains no analytics. If you choose, in your iPhone’s settings, to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports, under Apple’s privacy policy.

Deleting your data

  • Settings › Privacy › Delete personal data removes your plans and your event tags from this iPhone.
  • Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
  • Events in Ahoratra’s own calendars stay in your Calendar app until you delete them there.

Children

Ahoratra collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Where a privacy law gives you rights over personal data, such as the GDPR, you can ask us to see or delete any feedback you’ve sent, at hello@ahoratra.day.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its date.
